Norway's biggest tourist attraction is without doubt the nature.
More than 30% of the country is covered by forests, rivers and lakes, nearly 50% by mountains, and the Norwegian coastline is 22 000 km (13,670 miles) long, including the fjords.
Norway is everything from deep, lush valleys to high mountain peaks. Great valleys stretch from the Norwegian mountains towards the south and the east.
Especially beautiful are the majestic mountain peaks, glaciers, broad plateaus, fjords and waterfalls in the western part of the country. A perfect setting for breathtaking experiences. Some viewpoints will require that you walk a little first, but the reward is well worth the effort.
Where the countryside shows signs of settling, you will find many interesting cultural landscapes. Along the river valleys people have found the basis for their existence and built their communities.
Norway has a great diversity of remarkable natural attractions and geological phenomena. All over the country you will find remarkable natural formations, created by erosion or the endless motion of the sea, and in the northern parts you can find exciting grottoes.
