Traveling…

...is really what I love the most! I really like to go to new places, meet new people, learn about other cultures, enjoy local food - in general, get the most out of every trip. Time and money of course limits my traveling, but I try to get a trip whenever possible.

Except from some major cities, where I always enjoy spending some time, I always go to visit new locations to learn to know the people there and their culture.
When traveling, I'm not the organized, typical tourist. You will hardly ever find me on a charter trip - except if it is to save money getting there. The way I prefer it is backpacking, no plans, no stress, no schedules – only a Lonely Planet guidebook.

There's so many places I'd love to see - and I will, at least most of them. The list of destinations with priority is long, and most trips include scuba diving.
Still, there are other places as well, such as China, Nepal and some of the Middle East countries. I would also like to visit Burma/Myanmar soon - and preferably before too many tourists, Coca Cola and McDonalds ruins the place completely. When it comes to Myanmar, I'm maybe a bit ambivalent towards going or not. I really want to see the country, but I'm not too happy with supporting the military regime with USD.

I've often dreamt about visiting Australia, but never come to it as it is far away and you definitely need some time to move around. Life sometimes take new directions, and opportunities might surface when you least expect it. ...and what came around for me was an excellent opportunity to study in Australia - which I took. From August '03 my new starting point will be Gold Coast, AU, with all the possibilities of new adventures that will bring. Updates will be posted on own pages.

It is a big world out there… but remember this:
EVERYTHING is just one flight away - and you're never further away from home than a phone-call!
